Export
Copy bullets into any app, or export them to a Markdown, OPML or PDF file.
Copy and paste
Section titled “Copy and paste”Select bullets with Shift+↑ or Shift+↓, or drag across them. Then Ctrl+C copies them with everything under them, and Ctrl+X cuts them. Ctrl+V pastes in place of the selected bullets, or after the bullet the cursor is in.
- In TreeWrite, even in another document, the bullets come back as they were.
- In another app, they paste as Markdown.
- In a code or math bullet, a table cell or a callout title, they go in as their Markdown text.
Export to a file
Section titled “Export to a file”Open the menu of a bullet, or the menu of the view (the three dots at the top right), then Export and a format. The bullet is exported with everything under it. On the Home, the menu of the view exports the whole document.
| Format | What you get |
|---|---|
| Markdown | Text for any editor. Pasted back into TreeWrite, it gives back the tree, titles, checkboxes, numbers, notes, code, math, tables, dividers and images from a URL. Tags and dates come back as text, and pages and callouts as text bullets |
| OPML | The format outliners exchange, with the notes and the checked checkboxes |
| A document to read and print, in a light theme |
Markdown and OPML leave out the icons and backgrounds of pages, the levels of callouts, how dates repeat, table headers on the side, column and image widths, and flashcards. References become their text, and the files of your assets their name.
