Privacy Policy

TreeWrite keeps your notes on your computer. This policy says what does leave it, and what we know about you when you buy a license. The one responsible for it is Pinha Lab Software Ltda ("Pinha Lab", "we"), a company registered in Brazil under CNPJ 69.500.035/0001-96, at Rua Pais Leme, 215, Conj. 1713, Pinheiros, São Paulo, SP, 05424-150, Brazil.

Your documents

They never reach us. TreeWrite keeps them in files on your disk. When you sync a document with git or publish it as a site, it goes to the repository or host you set up, and to no one else.

What the app sends

• Looking for updates, every few hours: a request to Cloudflare, at updates.treewrite.app, for the file that names the latest version, with nothing about you. It can be turned off in Settings › Updates.
• Downloading an update, once one is found: a request to Cloudflare, at updates.treewrite.app, which passes it on to GitHub, where each version is kept.
• Images given as a web address in your documents: they are loaded from that address, as a browser does.
• Activating a license, and checking it now and then: the license key, a hash of the id of your computer (never the id itself), and which system it runs, as macOS, sent to Keygen.

Like any server, the ones above see the IP address the request comes from.

When you buy

Paddle, our reseller, collects what the purchase needs, as your name, email, country and payment details, under its own privacy policy. Your card never reaches us. Paddle tells us your email, your country and what you bought, so we can make your license, which keeps your email, and email you its key.

The website

This site sets no cookies of its own, and has no analytics nor tracking. The pricing page loads the checkout of Paddle, which may set cookies of its own when you buy.

Who handles it for us

• Paddle: payments, taxes, invoices and refunds, as the merchant of record.
• Keygen: licenses, with their email, their expiry and the computers activated.
• Cloudflare: this website, the update checks and downloads, and the email sent to support@pinhalab.com.
• GitHub: keeps the files of each version, and serves their downloads.
• Resend: sending the email with your license key, and our replies when you write to us.

Some of them are outside Brazil, and handle the data under their own safeguards for doing so.

How long we keep it

A license, with its email, is kept while it exists, as it goes on covering versions after a subscription ends. Purchase records are kept as long as the law asks for taxes. Emails to support are kept while they are useful to help you.

Your rights

Under the LGPD of Brazil, and the laws of your own country such as the GDPR, you can ask what we keep about you, and have it corrected or deleted. Deleting the email of an active license deletes the license. Write to support@pinhalab.com.

Changes

When this policy changes, this page says so with a new date.
